About Me

Wellllllll...
I've a rediscovered interest in sewing, yet a new love for quilting and all it entails.  Fabrics, design, piecing, borders, shapes, colors, quilting!

My 3 day a week job is as a registered nurse working on a cardiac floor. I enjoy the people I work with, they help make the grueling 13-hour-days not only bearable, but enjoyable.  They inspire me.

Why Bluebirds On My Shoulder?
Two things really:

One being the song "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah", Mr. Bluebird on my shoulder, is  a refrain I hear often in my own little head.  All of the song lyrics are here.  I love "My oh my, what a wonderful day.  Plenty of sunshine heading my way..."  In the midst of chaos this song is helpful.

Two being- the little itty, bitty, blurry picture in the bottom right corner of my header is an old photo of my dad, brother, mom & myself.  The bluebirds are my dad and my brother.  My dad passed away in a car accident when I was nine-years-old.  My brother passed away unexpectedly this April 2013.  Losing him has inspired me to happiness, to live vibrantly, create fabulous relationships!  He would want that, they both would.  And I feel their presence, their wings, their heartfelt adoration...  bluebirds on my shoulder...

Thank You- for your interest, your eyes, your hearts, your thinking, your creative self!

Liz

    1. Thanks Lisse. Quilting keeps not only my hands, but my mind busy. Thoughts of color and pattern calm me now.
